weird firefox smiley at bottom of my page

here’s what the bottom left corner of my site’s pages looks like in firefox on the mac:

macintosh firefox

here’s what it looks like using every other browser:

every other browser

what’s up with that smiley thing? is it a part of the creative commons image that only shows on that specific browser? it’s not on the bottom of any other page i can see on the mac using firefox.

i’m not paranoid or anything — i’d just like an explanation and google isn’t coughing it up.

any ideas?

  2. It’s the way WordPress.com gather stats! Look at the image properties (it’s an image, not a symbol)

  4. ah…mystery solved. it doesn’t show up for me when i am logged in, because the wordpress stats don’t count my page views. when i log out of the site and view it in safari, it’s there.

    thanks again, zim!

  5. Yeah I remember finding that smiley face on my blogs as well. I didn’t realize WordPress used it to track users though. At least it’s small and not that obtrusive.
